People think that sleeping fewer hours or at odd hours is a show of your physical strength and endurance but today I will burst that bubble. Insufficient sleep negatively affects your wellness and can cause major health complications in the long run.

A study done in the US on 9,000 people showed that those who had an average of 6 sleep hours were 27% more likely to be overweight compared to those who had 8hrs of sleep or more. It also showed that those who slept less than 5 hours had a 73% chance of becoming overweight. The study indicates that sleep is vital in weight control.
- Lack of sleep can make you die early
Reduced sleep increases your risk of mortality. Also the diseases those are associated with poor sleep like heart disease, diabetes and breast cancer which may contribute to your early death.
