Making a few changes in your lifestyle can significantly increase your years on this earth. Here are some suggestions on practices suitable for an extended lifespan.

Drinking adequate portion of water is essential. You should consume at least seven cups of water every day. Water nourishes the digestive system and keeps your system hydrated. It is also good for keeping your skin healthy and lively.

Exercising is the cornerstone to a healthier body and therefore a longer life.Studies have suggested that daily exercises can add up to 3yrs to your life.

 

  1. Avoid overeating

Japanese culture recommends that you should stop eating when you feel 80% full to derive the longer lifespan. Consuming just the adequate food portion will enable your body to digest the food quickly, and you will have increased metabolism. It leaves space for air, so you don’t feel too bloated.

 

  1. Socialize

Having a good network of family and friends will give you along life. Leading a solitude life may cause inflammation of the heart, the worry and negative feelings that come up when feeling lonely can also cause ulcers and depression. Therefore it is for your own good to talk to the stranger next to you.

 

  1. Balanced diet

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Adding fruits and vegetables to your diet will benefit your health. These contain vitamins and fibers that lower your chances of getting heart disease and even cancer. Fruits and vegetables have antioxidants which are also good for your skin, therefore, reducing wrinkles.

 

  1. Get enough sleep

The benefit of good sleep cannot be understated. Not getting at least 7 hours of sleep a day or sleeping at odd hours can increase your risk of getting illnesses like cancer, obesity, heart disease and diabetes.  Proper rest will help to relax your body and mind and after a busy day your body and mind deserve it. Doctors also advise on keeping a consistent sleep pattern.
